If God is my first love, then Romania might just come in second. It is so good to be here again. When I walked out of church this morning I took in a huge breath of air and thought "Yes, it smells like Romania!"
God has already taught me, in a way that I am sure will make it stick, that it is not about me. That even though he cares more than I do about my own life, it is ultimately about glorifying him in our circumstances, however miserable or blessed they may be.
I went to Metanoia with DU and her family today and had such a wonderful time. It is really something to attend a church service in a foreign country and in a different language. I did have the sermon translated for me, and I am so grateful to the woman who translated. She did an incredible job. What was really cool was that there were so many people from different countries at church this morning (a group from Czech, an Austrian, an Asian, a Russian, a Frenchwoman, and two men from Africa, oh and of course me). Because of this, the youth pastor who had given the sermon asked for a representative from each of the countries to come up and pray to close the service. Being the only American I had to go up. I don't think I've ever felt my hear beat so fast. If I knew I could just pray and no one would understand me I would have been fine, but half the people in that church speak English. God calmed me though, and my prayer certainly wasn't eloquent or moving or anything, but it really was a great experience. A great reminder that there are believers all over the world; we are not in this alone!
Thank you all for your prayers. Please pray for me as I make my way to Vienna Monday night to meet up with the my team for the summer. I will go by train and I'm a little nervous. Thanks for everything; you guys are wonderful!
So happy to hear you made it to Romania safe and sound. :) Love you Darling. <3
