One of my favorite tv shows is The Amazing Race where teams of two race around the world completing ridiculous tasks to win 1 million dollars. My family and I follow it religiously.
JV has its own version of the Amazing Race which my team and I completed yesterday, much to our relief. We came in third place out of thirteen teams. Josh and I always said that we could go on the Race and totally win it, but after the three days on JV's race, I am not so sure I could do it. It was certainly one of the more difficult things that I have done in my life. Racing with eight total strangers across three countries on very little sleep and virtually no food was exhausting. We saw the worst in each other, but we also got to see some of the best. I learned so much about my team, and even more about myself, and though I'm not sure that I would want to do it again, I am thankful for the lessons it taught and the opportunity to bond with my team.
The tasks that we were asked to accomplish were ridiculous, but perhaps the worst, no, for sure the worst was when we, as a team, had to eat ten bowls of cow stomach soup. Nasty stuff. It is just as bad as you imagine it is.
My battery is almost dead, and I think I am ready for a nap, so that is going to be all for now. Thank you for your prayers!!!
