I'd like you all to meet my roommate, Brenda. She's from Orange County, California. She says things like "fug-muff" and "bffl", and her boyfriend looks like Hudson Jones. I think she might be my soul mate.
When I first met her so many syllables came out of her mouth that I hardly had time to count them all, let alone comprehend their meaning. I was worried. But the next night we stole extra water bottles from the welcome day and hid them in the bushes to retrieve later that night. That pretty much solidified our relationship. You know what they say, nothing brings people together like the element of danger.
Brenda and I go just about everywhere together. One of our favorite things to do is to take the el to Western and walk through the shops. We're both hoping for a job at the grocery store with the big cow out front. They sell Milka there, and bubbly water.
She doesn't have snow boots, or a coat, but I told her I'd take her home and "momma Juchems" would help us find her some. She'd never heard cicadas before. "Why don't they do something about that?!?" she said when I told her they live in the trees. She tells me my coffee tastes like dirt. And she scolds me for being on facebook.
I love her. And when I pray, I thank God for giving me a roommate like Brenda. God is good, all of the time. He knows me better than I know myself, and I am so thankful for that!
I agree with Brenda. There has got to be something that can be done about the locusts in the trees...
