Another city, another experience

Slovakia may not know it, but it is home to some of the coolest bikes on the planet. Every city we visit is overrun with bikers, and as I check out every bike that whizzes by I become ever more homesick for my own beautiful bike. My legs twitch in anticipation at the thought of riding, and my eyes grow distant and nastalgic as I think back to the rolling hills around Tremont, the burning of my quads, and the sweat dripping down my brow. I gaze enviously around me at the people riding along in happy, sweet freedom, and me, stuck plodding along on my own two feet.

Ok, it really isn't all that bad. But I have been wanting to ride lately, and the other night when Kari mentioned it I jumped at the chance. We dug through the Rumbold's garage and pulled out some old mountain bikes - mine even had a child's seat hanging out over the back tire - and lit out on the bike path that loops around their neighborhood. It was dark and cool, and so much fun. We came home splattered in mud (some places are still soggy from the river flooding) but quite pleased with our little adventure.

Yesterday the rest of the interns left to continue their host city visits, and me, Holly, and Stano stayed here in Bardejov to begin meeting with the youth group and planning school visits. Tonight we will attend their youth meeting. They are having a guest speaker: me! I just spent the last hour and a half planning a lesson, and we'll go over it with the rest of the team after lunch. I'm pretty nervous about it, but I feel confident that God will give me peace and the strength I need to survive this night. He says that in our weaknesses he is strong. Well this is one of my weak points.

Thanks to everyone who reads my blog. It is fun to have people following me :)
Ok, its lunchtime at the Rumbolds. Thanks for all your prayers!!
