Storm's Over

I doubt that the streets of Chicago have ever been as silent as they were this morning. With the snow keeping most people inside and the streets next to impassible it was all quiet and all beauty during my trek over to Helwig, our rec center. If I had closed my eyes you could have fooled me into thinking I was back home in Tremont.

Of course, it didn't last all that long. Already my roommate and I can hear squeals and shrieks of laughter coming from the greenspace. We're thinking snowball fight. But, those are good sounds too - happy ones.

We'll probably head out later. It is hard to resist the child inside, but for now its homework time.
