Tenth Avenue North

I should be finishing up a paper right now. I'm on the home stretch, just gotta wrap things up. However, I am here with you because I just realized something.

Tenth Avenue North is my all-time favorite band, ever.

I know that this revelation doesn't seem all that important in the grand scheme of things. I mean, there are so many other epiphanies that I could have had the three seconds before I opened up this tab. But this is the one I got.

I was blown away by their album Over and Underneath. I liked every song. That is a rarity.
I am floored by their newest album The Light Meets the Dark. Again. Every song.

I mean, I like other bands. I like J-Mo because his voice is unique. I like Vampire Weekend because their songs are fun. I like Mumford and Sons because their music just makes me happy and sometimes a little melancholy (is that an oxymoron?).

Tenth? I like them for their words. Their words are powerful. They speak to my heart. Consistently. I have never heard the love of God expressed so well as it is in their music. It is just brilliant. There are no other words. These songs aren't just those cheesy praise songs that we sometimes sing in church. They are beautiful, and they speak truth.

Go listen to them. All of them. Listen to the words.
I can't even suggest a good one, because they are all so mmm.
Maybe On and On. Or Times. Any Other Way. Beloved. All the Pretty Things.
Here's the link to one because I know that people are lazy.
