A Day in Satu Mare

So...we are back in Satu Mare, and I bet you are all wondering what we have been doing?  Basically our mission for the rest of our time here is to build upon the relationships that we made with the kids at camp and to bring Christ into the picture whenever we can.  An average day for us here in the city involves us waking up around 10 and cleaning the house.  We do the dishes and the laundry, and whatever else needs to be done.  Fixing the toilet, sweeping, buying groceries with our neighbor Angie.
*A side note about our neighbors; Angie and Kevin are a Canadian couple who are here in Satu Mare working along side  Mike Ely (who's house we have invaded).  They are such wonderful people!  They have been life savers for us, and we are so thankful that God has provided us with such good friends and such help.  He really is taking care of us!!
Anyway, to continue on with our day...we try very hard to make sure we make time for our devos in the morning, but sometimes things happen.  This time, however, is so so so important to us!  We desperately need it to recharge and prepare ourselves for the day and its challenges. Often we don't eat breakfast until around 11, and so breakfast and lunch have seemed to become one meal for us.  Finally, in the afternoon we escape from the apartment and go and meet someone, or sometimes at night we have people over.  We try to make sure that each day is filled with at least one person that is either a non-believer, or is a new-believer.  We have done things such as meeting someone at Ali Baba's (our favorite pizza place where everyone goes to hang out) and then just walking around the city and talking, we have had people over to make cookies or pancakes late at night, and we have attended some parties.  Generally at 11:30 or midnight we all get online and email people or see who is online, and finally around 2:00 we crawl off to bed.
So that is our day in a nutshell.  It is late and we are all ready for bed, so this will be all for now.  If anyone has any questions they want to ask or anything they would like us to post about that we aren't already please let us know!!  We love to hear from all of you back home.
Noapte Buna!

  3. Hey Alyssa! Thanks for commenting. It is awesome to get feedback. They do not have the club anymore. They don't have any building now, they just meet in homes, and I don't think the youth meet in any organized fashion. At least they haven't while we have been here.

We have spent some time in Baia Mare. Last week we were there for like 4 or 5 days. But now we only have a week left. I think Talissa might try to make a day trip there on Thursday. Our time left is so short!!! But we are excited to see everyone at home!
